Welcome! I’m Michelle, and I’m Here to Help You Live a More Meaningful Life

It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, feeling stuck and overwhelmed. We forget to pause, breathe, and truly enjoy our journey. If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place! Let me share a little about myself and how my personal development journey began.

I’m a mom of six—my first was born when I was just 19. For most of their childhood, I worked full-time while earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Like many moms, I handled nearly every detail of running a household—doctor’s appointments, school functions, after school activities, homework, housecleaning, dinner, and bedtime routines. On top of that, I spent nights tackling studying and homework for my degrees (thank the Universe for online classes!). For years, I even had a grueling one-and-a-half-hour commute to work after dropping my kids off at daycare.

I didn’t have a strong support system or the coping skills to handle stress. I felt alone, exhausted, and resentful. My marriage didn’t survive (though my ex and I are great friends today). Eventually, I was prescribed medication for anxiety and depression, yet life still felt chaotic. The endless cycle of never catching up—on laundry, responsibilities, or emotions—left me drained and often in tears. I cried  A LOT!

Despite all this, I accomplished a lot. I earned my master’s degree and had incredible experiences. But deep down, I always felt like something was missing. I wasn’t where I wanted to be.

My Wake-Up Call

Then came 2020—a year that changed everything. I was diagnosed with a terrifying illness: HIV. I walked around in a fog, struggling to process what had happened. I was a soccer mom. A PTO member. A master’s degree holder. Was it rational to think these things would somehow protect me? No. But I wasn’t thinking rationally.

While I’ll share my HIV journey another day, this blog is about something bigger—personal growth, resilience, and reclaiming your life.

As if my world wasn’t already spinning, a month after my diagnosis, the world itself began to unravel. A global pandemic…toilet paper shortages…murder hornets…riots and looting. What. In. The. Actual. Hell?! Did anyone else joke about the different levels of Jumanji that year?

I thought therapy might help, so I found one through my company’s Employee Assistance Program. While she was a kind woman, each session left me frustrated. She kept telling me how “healed” I was, suggesting we space out sessions. But we hadn’t even scratched the surface of my struggles! Rather than feeling supported, I felt dismissed. That’s when I made a life-changing decision: I was going to learn how to heal myself.

Why I Created This Blog

My journey into personal development started with a simple planner that had a pretty cover. That planner led me to discover the Law of Attraction, manifestation, and spirituality. From there, I learned to push past my comfort zone, embrace patience, let go of expectations, and accept life as it is.

Now, I want to help you do the same. Your journey will be different to mine. You will find the topics and resources that speak to you. This blog is a place for growth, mindfulness, and rediscovering what truly matters. I’m so glad you’re here, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Let’s start creating the best life!
